THE OLD MINE

Close to the camping site you can find ruins of buildings which were once dedicated to the processing of a mineral containing silver, extracted from the mine nearby. The site was active from the mid-nineteeenth century to the beginning of the twentieth, when it was closed due to the exhaustion of the vein.

CALVI

It’s a typical seaside town. With ferry service to and from the continent and a small touristic harbor. With famous beaches, many shops. The citadel with its typical bars and restaurants is worth a visit.

he camping site La Morsetta is ideal for scuba diving. It offers a recharging service for oxygen tanks and, being close to a protected natural reserve, hosts many different types of fish. We would like to remind that it is forbidden to fish with oxygen tanks and to dive in the natural reserve. /p>

The Scandola Natural Reserve (UNESCO World Heritage), is part of the Natural Park. It’s been the first European natural reserve with protected areas both on the sea and on the ground. It’s composed of two sectors: the small Island of Elpa Nera and the Scandola Peninsula. The sheer peaks facing the sea, sometimes as high as 900 meters, include many caves and are surrounded by numerous islets and coves which remain nearly inaccessible, like the one of Tuara.

THE DESERT BALAGNA

Within an area of 30 km it’s possible to take a nice tour of the Balagna. From the camping site going southwards, one can reach Galeria and its large cobble beach. Its bay offers anchorage to sportcraft boats. At the end of the beach, the small Fango river delta is worth a visit. The valley of the Fango river seeps into the inland and forms, together with the adjacent valleys, the region of Falasorma, where it’s possible to practice trekking, canoeing, rafting, kayaking and canyoning. Along its path, the river forms large “pools”, often very crowded, whose temperature is often not very different than the one of the sea. Worth a visit: Galeria, Tuarelli, the Pirio forest home, the Fango forest, Manso, Bardiana and La Rocce bridge.

HORSE RIDING EXCURSIONS
